Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week (16 - 21 May, 2022) Psychology Department has celebrated 'Mental Health Awareness Week' as part of Azaadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav. The following activities were organized under this programme: Day 1 (16.5.22) - On the first day on 16.05.2022, Dr. Rakesh Bahumani, Professor,Guru Jabheshwar University, Hisar, gave two Extension Lectures. Topic of the lectures were"Mental Health After Covid 19" And "Child Abuse And Mental Health". Total 68 students were benefited and present in this lecture. Day 2 (17.5.22) - Yoga and Meditation activity was done. This yoga and meditation session was conducted by Dr. Sunita ,Department of Psychology. Total 70 students benefited themselves from yoga and meditation and made themselves aware of the benefits of it.| Day 3(18.5.22) College students as well as the academic and non-academic staff showed their emotions through pencil and colors. About 70 students participated enthusiastically in this activity. Day 4(19.5.22) – Documentary film related to mental disorders was shown to the students. They were made aware about various mental disorders, their symptoms and treatment . About 100 students were made aware through this activity. Day Fifth (20.5.22) - The students were told tips to boost their memory ,increase concentration, and attention. Also the ways to remove mental stress through mind games were told so as to stay mentally healthy. Total 150 students along with staff members participated in this activity. Day 6 (21.5.22) - Mental health awareness week was concluded with exhibition of drawings made by students and teachers other activities of dance and singing, jokes, poetry etc. were done to remove mental stress. Total 200 students along with staff members participated in this activity.
